Standard Admission:
Applicants must meet ONE of the following two criteria:
Successful completion of NIMT Inc.'s BASIC RELAXATION MASSAGE PROGRAM
OR
Official proof of successful completion of an equivalent program/ programs as recognized by the Registrar of NIMT Inc.
*For those students who have completed their first year of training elsewhere and are considering attending the second year Advanced Therapeutic Massage Program the procedure is as follows:
1. Provide the Registrar of NIMT Inc. with documentation of previous training consisting of a minimum of 1000 hours of instruction (transcript, Certificate, Diploma etc.)
2. Upon review of the documentation the Registrar may request one or a combination of the following in order to confirm an applicant's suitability for the Program.
The Registrar may require that the applicant undertake any or all of the following:
- a personal interview
- completion of an Proficiency examination administered by NIMT Inc.
- provision of a clearly legible Doctor's note stating that the applicant is physically capable of working as a massage therapist
- perform a massage treatment
In the event that a Proficiency Examination is required a sitting fee of $150.00 will be required in advance of the examination. Topics will include all items listed in the content description for the Basic Relaxation Massage Program.
All examinations MUST be completed one month prior to the class start date.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Students will be required to purchase the first year textbooks and supplies in addition to second year tuition.
